Washington DC Capitol Protest Report

On the morning of December 24, 2009, on the Capitol steps in Washington D.C., while legislators voted in support of the single largest provision for Socialized Medicine in United States history, a band of men and woman stood in opposition to further Statist control and Tyranny. Today, we stood for Liberty and Freedom.

During the formulation of the documents which govern this land, our founding fathers fought to “secure the blessings of liberty,” for the people, which they understood were “endowed by our Creator.” Recognizing those liberties and responsibilities which are given to us by God determines our commission and what we are to stand for. And today, we took a stand.

The National Health Care plan appeals to the slothful and irresponsible as they look to the State to provide for their needs or the needs of the elderly which we as individuals should bear responsibility for. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy in the first century and said: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. (1 Tim 5:8). A National Health Care plan directly opposes the assigned responsibility for care and clear instruction given in the Scriptures. Christ commissions practical duties. And the American people have looked to the State rather than God.

As we continue to shirk responsibility we will continue to forfeit liberty and freedom. In exchange for health care we will receive mandatory vaccinations, assigned physicians, scheduled inoculations, and treatment at the discretion of the government. Care and quality of life decisions will be left in the hands of legislators. We have chosen the ethic of the State over the ethic of the Great Physician.

God has commissioned His children, those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ, to exercise dominion - to live consistent with His commands until He returns . We are to be His ambassadors - ambassadors of His ways on this earth as a display of Him as our King. And, Christ is the Messiah, not the State.

Our hope is in the Lord! And despite the clear assault upon American Liberty that continues to take place as we surrender our freedoms to socialized government, we find our strength and rest in knowledge that God Himself is Sovereign and not man. We must see our victory in Jesus Christ and not government provisions or temporal defeats or victories.

Reform must begin with us as individuals. We must repent as individuals who have forsaken our duty, our obedience, and our allegiance to Jesus Christ. We must seek His face, reform our homes, reform our churches, and reform our communities for righteousness consistent with the Word of God. And then we can hope in reform for our Nation and pursue legislation that reflects Biblical ethic.

The abominations we tolerate across our land are the cause for the judgment we are experiencing as we defy the standards of God and defy God Himself.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chron 7:14).

This verse is far more than a trivial passage; it is the bedrock of our hope. And until we as men and purchased servants of Christ recognize that we should not be conformed to this world but be separate and come out from among the wayward culture and shine our light for His glory, we will continue to see the systematic erosion of our liberties for generations to come. Israel experienced this slow return to bondage after they were liberated from Egypt. Generations passed and they forsook the Lord. Their liberties were eroded due to disobedience to God and idolatry. Syria, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon and many other nations were the instruments of God’s chastening. We have forsaken our Liberator and our Redeemer. Today our own government is the agent of God’s judgment upon us.

But, today I call you to take a stand. Assume the call that God has commissioned you to. Forsake your slothfulness. Forsake your disobedience. Turn from your wicked ways. Seek the Lord. Be valiant. And engage this culture for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Tomorrow, the day that the world celebrates as Christmas Eve, has been uniquely positioned to become “Tyranny Eve”. Liberal lawmakers have scheduled two monumental votes on bills which, if carried into law, will propel us deeper toward statist socialism than many of us ever believed possible. And this is just the beginning.

While most citizens across America will be enjoying cozy pajamas and crackling fires, we call upon “Sons of Liberty” to recognize this crucial moment –to eschew comfort and STAND! Not just against socialistic health care and unlimited government spending, but for our children and their freedom.

Several months ago, town hall meetings across America pulsed with the outrage of concerned citizens who said “enough is enough” with the government’s attempts to encroach on our freedom by taking greater control over the private sector. Now, on the eve of an historic vote on health care legislation in the Senate, that spirit has waned as the passage of this behemoth bill that will deprive us of liberties and bankrupt our children’s future is considered inevitable.

Now is not the time for apathy. Now is the time to stand.

Join concerned citizens across America tomorrow morning as we gather on the footsteps of the capitol building in Washington D.C. to stand for freedom and against tyranny.

Why are we gathering while others have gone “home for the holidays”? Because we believe that American patriots should not be lulled into easy peace while such a galactic blow to American Liberty is being dealt. The festive cheer of the season cannot mask the ugly reality that is being advanced on “Tyranny Eve” by legislators drunk, not with spiked eggnog, but with the sense of unchecked power that is run amok.

We are not gathering merely to protest these bills. We are gathering to oppose the idea that it is the governments place to solve our problems. We say with the founding father of America that it is not. The solution is in our homes, our businesses, and our churches across America. We affirm our constitution’s bill of rights which states “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Join us as we peacefully stand together to defy tyranny and proclaim our allegiance to the God who our constitutional republic was founded upon.

Stand with us as we proclaim to lawmakers in Washington DC that statist power grabs are not the solution. They are the problem.
